Cool down with this incredibly simple and refreshing homemade lemonade. Using whole lemons and a food processor, you can whip up a batch of this zesty summer classic in just minutes.
Place the roughly chopped lemons, caster sugar, and 500ml (half) of the cold water into a food processor. Pulse and blend until the lemons are finely chopped and the sugar has mostly dissolved.
Set a fine-mesh sieve over a large jug or bowl. Pour the lemon mixture through the sieve, using the back of a spoon to press down firmly to extract as much juice and flavor as possible.
Discard the remaining pulp. Stir the rest of the cold water into the lemon concentrate in the jug.
Serve the lemonade immediately over plenty of ice, or chill in the fridge. Garnish with fresh lemon or lime slices for an extra citrus kick.
For a sparkling version, replace the second half of the water with chilled soda water. If you prefer a less sweet drink, start with 100g of sugar and adjust to your taste. You can also freeze the lemonade into ice lollies for a perfect summer treat.
