Achieve a juicy, restaurant-quality rib-eye with a beautiful crust using your air fryer. This quick and easy method ensures perfectly cooked steak every time with minimal cleanup and maximum flavor.
Pat the rib-eye steaks completely dry with paper towels or a clean cloth to ensure a good sear. Lightly brush both sides with oil, then season generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for about 2 minutes.
Place the steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 6 minutes, then flip the steaks and cook for another 2 minutes for rare to medium-rare results.
For a medium steak, add an extra 2 minutes of cooking time. For well-done, add a total of 4 extra minutes after the initial flip.
Transfer the steaks to a plate and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring the meat is tender and moist.
For the best results, take the steaks out of the fridge 30 minutes before cooking to reach room temperature. Use a meat thermometer to check internal temperatures: 52°C for rare, 60°C for medium, and 71°C for well-done.
