Create a stunning holiday centerpiece without ever turning on the oven! This whimsical meringue tree uses store-bought treats and whipped cream for a festive dessert that is as fun to build as it is to eat.
Place a large meringue nest on a serving platter to act as the base. Secure it with a dollop of whipped cream, then stack the second nest on top, sandwiching them together with more cream.
Using the whipped cream as 'glue,' begin building the tree shape by attaching the mini meringues around and on top of the stacked nests. Work in layers, tapering the shape as you reach the top to create a pointed peak.
Drizzle the assembled tree with melted white chocolate or decorate with white chocolate stars for a snowy, festive look.
Sprinkle the broken peppermint candy canes over the tree. Serve immediately or chill briefly, accompanied by a berry compote on the side.
For better stability, chill the assembled tree for about 30 minutes before serving to allow the whipped cream to set. If you want a more traditional look, add a drop of green food coloring to the whipped cream before assembly.
