Cool down with this vibrant and refreshing homemade iced tea, perfectly balanced with honey and zesty citrus. Infused with fresh mint and orange slices, it's the ultimate thirst-quencher for warm sunny days.
Place the tea bags, golden caster sugar, and honey in a large heatproof jug. Pour in 1.5 liters of boiling water and stir until the sugar and honey have completely dissolved.
Allow the tea to steep for 10 minutes to develop a full flavor. Remove and discard the tea bags, then let the liquid cool to room temperature before refrigerating until thoroughly chilled.
Once the tea is cold, stir in the fresh lemon juice, lemon slices, orange slices, and mint leaves. Fill the jug with a generous amount of ice and stir again.
Serve the iced tea in tall glasses filled with extra ice, and offer additional honey on the side for those who prefer a sweeter drink.
For a crystal-clear tea, let it cool completely at room temperature before putting it in the fridge; putting hot tea directly into the refrigerator can make it cloudy. You can easily customize this by using green tea or adding seasonal fruits like peaches or berries.
