Indulge in the classic flavors of Black Forest cake with this nutritious, high-protein breakfast bowl. A creamy blend of oats, yogurt, and dark cherries topped with almond butter and chocolate makes for a satisfying and energizing start to your day.
In a large bowl or blender, combine 300g of the thawed black forest fruit mix with the porridge oats and soya yogurt.
Using a hand blender or a high-speed stationary blender, blitz the mixture until it is completely smooth and creamy.
Divide the blended base evenly among six serving bowls or meal-prep containers.
Top each bowl with the remaining 200g of whole berries, a tablespoon of almond butter, a sprinkle of chopped dark chocolate, and a teaspoon of the toasted seed mix.
Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate for up to four days. If using, garnish with fresh mint leaves just before eating.
For a gluten-free option, ensure your porridge oats are certified gluten-free. If you prefer a thinner consistency, add a splash of almond or soy milk while blending. This recipe is perfect for meal prep as the oats soften further and the flavors meld when chilled overnight.
